Pretty Pretty Princess!

April 24, 2009 by Carrie Sellman 8 Comments

What little girl doesn’t wish that she had a beautiful fluffy gown, a tiara and magic wand, not to mention a handsome prince waiting for her? For that matter, what grown woman would turn that down? I guess that is why ‘princess’ is such a popular birthday theme. So for all of the princesses out there, here are some of my favorite princess cakes from the past. Enjoy!

    Hi,
Beautiful cakes!! I am trying to do a similar one to the lower left corner. How did you do the balls around for the border?
    Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks Melissa. The dotted ball border (on all of my cakes) is buttercream border using a #12 round tip. I know alot of other designers make their ball borders using fondant, but the majority of my cakes were a buttercream base with just some fondant details (stripes, polka dots, etc). Either way, I think you’ll get a similar result.

    Good luck!

I love all of the princess cakes! They are amazing!!! I would love to make the cake in the top right corner for my daughter’s 4th birthday party. Is it pink frosting with different fondant circle and stripe cut outs? Did you find the tiara and wand online?

    Thanks!
    Becky
