Today’s featured cake is a clever update on a timeless classic. Noah’s Ark is a popular theme for first birthdays, baptisms and christenings. Today’s cake take this concept to a whole new level. Specifically, to the top of the mountain! Adorable fondant animals are paired up two-by-two as they make their climb… to the top of the mountain where the ark awaits! We’re loving this precious Noah’s Ark Cake created by the talented Leony at Ma’ Cake in Sydney, Australia.
Leony of Ma’ Cake shared a little about her inspiration for this design:
“The original inspiration came from a client requesting Noah’s Ark on dry land. It was quite a large party so there was a need for a reasonably large cake. Rather than making the Ark very large, which would have dominated the animals, I thought it would be good to build a cake into the design. I thought about what the Ark represented and how big the flood was. Even the tallest mountain was flooded, so why not build a mountain with the Ark on top and have the animals make their way up to the Ark in pairs? The path carved into the maintain is what brought it all together. I was able to place elements at every level without them seeming out of place. I’m very proud of the cake, which has become one of my most popular designs.”
How brilliant are these little cuties climbing up to the top of the cake? The winding road is such a fun way to showcase so many pairs of animals! Let’s get a another look…
Back behind those charming hippos is a pair of snakes, waiting their turn to slither! At the very top, already loaded into the ark, are the rhinos…zebras… and lions! Oh my!
Completely, utterly adorable! This cake would be perfect for a first birthday, baptism or even a baby shower. Just think how charming would it be to celebrate twins!
A special thank you to Leony at Ma’ Cake for sharing her incredible cake creation with us! It is truly delightful! Happy Weekend everyone!
