Rachael of Intricate Icings gives us the scoop on her dress inspired design:

“A satin bow, lots of ruffles, and rows of sequins… sounds like the components of a stunning bridal gown to most, but to me it sounds like the makings of an unbelievable wedding cake.  All created out of sugar, this wedding cake is a direct design translation from gown to cake.  There are overlapping layers of textured modeling chocolate, some to mimic satin and some tulle.  Rows of sparkly gumpaste sequins highlight the tulle layers that form a  V shape in the front, just like the gown.  Finally, a satin bow is tied with streamers flowing down the side.”
