Lauren Kapeluck is a self-taught baker and lover of all things sugar. She is a cake addict, always welcoming cake in any form or fashion…chocolate or yellow, layered or cupcakes, it really doesn’t matter as long as there’s some buttercream frosting on top!
|After taking several cake decorating classes, her passion for baking bloomed and she started the blog Crave. Indulge. Satisfy. as a place to chronicle her baking adventures, recipes and photos. Most nights and weekends she can be found behind her stand mixer, wearing a cute apron of course, whipping up new recipes.
Lauren believes you can master the art of cupcakes with three simple tools: an ice cream scoop, offset spatula and a large round piping tip. And of course lots of sprinkles! Lauren became fascinated with cupcakes at an early age during weekend trips to a local bakery. She was always drawn to the traditional yellow cupcake with buttercream frosting, and of course the one decorated with the most rainbow non pareils! She is not opposed to eating cupcakes for breakfast!
A collector of cake decorating books and pretty cake pedestals, her husband jokes she is slowly taking over the kitchen with her baking tools one shelf at a time. Her favorite baking ingredient is vanilla bean paste which she uses in cookies, cakes and frosting recipes.
When Lauren’s not in the kitchen mixing up something sweet, she’s running marathons. She enjoys traveling across the country running races in new cities. Her mantra is “will run for cupcakes”. Afterall, she must burn off those cake calories consumed somehow!
Lauren lives in Mobile, AL with her husband and #1 taste tester Randolph and their black lab, Tillman.
