Lyndsay Sung grew up with a love of cakes, pastries and all things buttercream rose-covered. She first discovered the wonders of baking herself after receiving a pink Kitchen Aid stand mixer as a wedding present from her grandma. Once that motor started running, the obsession with baking and subsequently cake decorating began! Starting off in the gentle world of cupcakes, Lyndsay started her tiny cake business back in 2008 and documented all of her cakes and projects on her blog Coco Cake Land. Self-taught, Lyndsay learned from cake books, online tutorials and a little bit of obsessive practicing. Known for her modern-meets-vintage-meets-super cute illustration style, Lyndsay’s cakes have been shared hundreds of thousands of times via social media. She shares all of her work, including exclusive cake tutorials, recipes and cake topper projects over on her blog Coco Cake Land, which has received over 2.5 million + pageviews.
Lyndsay’s education background is very far from cakes indeed, with degrees in Women’s Studies/Film Studies and Integrated Media, where she studied film production, video, photography and music. But all things led back to cake, and now her main focus is Coco Cake Land, as well as freelance writing and photography jobs for websites such as Betty Crocker, Handmade Charlotte, Better Homes and Gardens and Poppytalk.
She lives in Vancouver, BC Canada with her husband and toddler son.
Lyndsay’s work has been featured online on Bon Appetit, Apartment Therapy, Oh Happy Day and countless other websites and she has been featured in full print articles in Uppercase Magazine and Elle Girl.
Lyndsay Sung also blogs at Coco Cake Land.
