You know it’s going to be a good week when it starts off like this. We’re brightening your Monday with a cake that redefines the word gorgeous. Taking it to a whole new level of style and sophistication. Today’s feature is a stunning combination of mixed patterns and textures that comes together in the most mesmerizing way. A bold black and white print is contrasted with shades of blush and soft wisps of gold. While extra tall, slender tiers play canvas to a bouquet of anemones, roses and peony buds. Creating a design, that is quite possibly, hands down, your new favorite. This is the stuff cake dreams are made of and it all comes to us from Stevi Auble, owner of Hey there, Cupcake! located in San Diego. Let’s take a look.
Stevi Auble of Hey there, Cupcake! tells us about her design:
“This cake was designed around the brides love of mixed prints and texture (basically a dream client for me!). The whole wedding was to be designed around a mix of hard and soft elements which is why I choose to incorporate black into the design to contrast the creams, whites and blushes which by nature is such a soft color combination.”
Stevi Auble of Hey there, Cupcake! gives us the scoop on her technique:
“While I left the top tier clean and simple covered in cream fondant, the middle tier was handpainted with a drybrush application using 6 colors in shades of blush, white, cream and gold. The bottom tier is a custom print to replicate the linens that were used on some of the guest tables. The floral cascade is a mix of gumpaste black berries and stylized dusty miller leaves and roses, peony buds and anemone wafer paper flowers.”
