Real Party: Vintage Summer Picnic

July 15, 2010 by Carrie Sellman

Some of you may have noticed by now that I’m a huge fan of picnics.  I’m not sure what it is about a picnic, but you can always count me in.  Maybe it’s the fresh air or delicious food in delightful little containers.  Maybe it’s just the idea of spending an afternoon with friends and family.  Whatever the reason, I love a good picnic!  So needless to say, I was thrilled when Lisa from Moore Minutes sent in this charming vintage picnic she put together for her family.  This day looks just perfect…magazine worthy perfect!

Vintage Summer Picnic

Doesn’t this make want to go on a picnic?  Maybe not in the dead heat of summer but definitely once it starts to cool off a little.  I love how all of the food is neatly prepared in glass jars, not only making it easy to transport but beautiful.  And the individual ice buckets for drinks are not only functional but oh so charming.

A very special thank you to Lisa Moore for sharing her amazing vintage picnic with us.  Be sure to check out Lisa’s blog for the full scoop on this picnic and many other inspirational party ideas.

Just lovely. I would be replicating this weekend if it wasn’t so darn hot here right now. Come fall, my family is in for a treat!

It’s the little details that make this really special — the mason jars, rustic ribbon ties, glass bottles rather than cans — but it’s missing one thing. Where’s the cake? 😉
