Real Party: Dr. Seuss Birthday

August 11, 2010 by Carrie Sellman

Today’s real party is filled with fun and whimsy.  Created by Annie from Annie’s Eats for her son’s second birthday, this Dr. Seuss inspired party is perfect for anyone who loves these classic books.  This charming party comes alive with red, white and blue with polka dots all over!
Dr. Seuss Birthday Party in Red & Blue

Dr. Seuss Birthday Party in Red & Blue

From The Cat in the Hat to Green Eggs and Ham, this party has it all, Sam-I-am!  Literally, guests enjoyed green deviled eggs and ham and cheese sliders.  I love the ‘Thing 2’ cupcakes made from red velvet cupcakes, cream cheese frosting and blue cotton candy ‘hair’.  Other treats included red velvet whoopie pies, Oreo truffles, marshmallow pops,  red and blue rock candy, caramel corn, and Coke bottles served with red and blue striped straws.

A special thanks to Annie for the amazing party inspiration – many kudos on a job well done!  Get the full scoop and all of the party details here on Annie’s blog.  And while your there, be sure to check out all of the delicious recipes and helpful cooking tips on Annie’s Eats.

Sherri – I believe Annie, the hostess, created the invitations herself. You can read more about this party on Annie’s blog. Here’s the link:

[…] Who doesn’t love Dr. Seuss? Thing 1 and Thing 2 who do the exact opposite of what you tell them to. Sounds like my daughter This party was created by Annie from Annie’s Eats for her son’s second birthday. I found this party over on Half Baked. I absolutely adore those green deviled eggs and the strawberries on a stick. So many fun things you can do with this idea! Check out the full post here. […]
