DIY: Vintage Petal Cake

April 27, 2011 by Carrie Sellman

Today we’re taking a break from the Royal Wedding mania to enjoy some cake!  A  lovely, rustic petal cake that would be perfect for any summer occasion.  I am completely smitten with this charming little cake.  It’s simple yet elegant with a vintage vibe.  What’s even better is that you can make this cake yourself!  It’s not complicated and completely achievable for any baker, beginner or advanced.  Your guests will be so impressed when you serve up this Pretty Petal Cake, created by Melissa from My Cake School.

Love the rustic feel and that it is buttercream! I love the taste of buttercream but the look of fondant. But this is pretty enough to forgo the fondant!
