Milk & Cookies Cake

February 23, 2012 by Carrie Sellman

Prepare for cuteness!  If you’re a cookie lover like me, you’re going to flip over today’s featured cake!  It is ridiculously cute and comes to us from one of my very favorite cake shops.  Rick and Sasha, my friends over at cakelava, have been sharing their incredible cakes with us for several years now.  I’m always thrilled to feature one of Rick’s creations… because each one seems better than the last.  If that’s possible!  And today’s cake is no exception!

Featuring oodles of chocolate chip cookies, piled and stacked high, this cake is cookie monster’s dream come true!  Old-fashioned milk bottles come to life with smiling faces and hand painted details.  Created for a first birthday party, feast your eyes on this delightfully charming Milk and Cookies Cake!

Sasha of cakelava shared a few details about this cake:

“The client came to us with the “milk and cookies” theme, based on her dessert table at her daughter’s 1st birthday party.  We thought it was an interesting theme with plenty of design possibilities and something Rick could have fun with.  Everything on the cake is hand made and painted.  Rick modeled the milk container after the old-school milk bottles and thought it would be cute to have a face on the bottle.”

It’s adorable, isn’t it?  The smiling milk bottle says it all….  this cake definitely makes me smile!!

A huge thank you to Rick and Sasha of cakelava for sharing this charming Milk and Cookies 1st Birthday Cake with us today.  We always enjoy the opportunity to ooh and awe over one of Rick’s creations!  And soon we’ll have another way to enjoy the gorgeousness that comes out of the cakelava kitchen…. Rick and Sasha have been hard at work, creating their first book!  So looking forward to the big release next summer!
