Graduation Owl Cake

I can hardly believe it’s the middle of MAY already!  The school year is coming to a close and many students are prepping to take their proud walk across the graduation stage.  Years of hard work and study deserve recognition AND an amazing cake!  Today’s featured cake is the perfect way to commemorate this accomplishment.  Whether it’s a graduation from high school, college or kindergarten!  This wise old owl perches confidently on a worn, well read book.  Complete with big eyes and tassel, Mr. Owl is completely adorable and totally edible!  We’re oohing and awing over this Graduation Owl Cake created by Roberta of Finally…Cakes!, a new cake shop in Rome.

Roberta of Finally…Cakes! shared a few thoughts about her adorable design:

“We love to consider the “graduation owl” cake our mascot, so you can easily imagine how exciting it is for us to have it featured on Half Baked!  The cake was designed for a dear friend’s graduation party… and she had no idea at all what I would make.  I didn’t want to stick to graduation hats and pergamenas, but wanted something more original, cute…and happy to celebrate such a special event!  Definitely the little owl was just perfect for it.”

This darling owl is bestowing wisdom and well wishes to all of the 2012 graduates!  Not only would be be a hoot at any upcoming graduation party, but he’d be tasty too!
