Coral & Aqua Beach Wedding

July 10, 2013 by Carrie Sellman

Shhh…. if you listen carefully, you can hear the sound of ocean waves crashing.  Today’s feature captures the beauty of the ocean and the gentle roll of the tide in a three-tiered wedding cake.  It comes to us from a bakery who knows a thing or two about seaside weddings.  Sherri Meyers and her team at The Pastry Studio in Daytona Beach created this chic design for a beach wedding full of Florida charm.  Soft aqua sets the stage for delicate coral piping, gracefully flowing up each tier.  While white-on-white starfish add a touch of texture to this polished design.  It’s elegant.  Refined.  And just like a day at the beach…. it’s simply delightful.  Let’s take a look!

Sherri of The Pastry Studio gives us the scoop on this design:

“This tall thin sleek wedding cake was made for an intimate seaside wedding in New Smyrna Beach, Fl.  The colors for the cake complemented the bridal party’s attire and featured elements of the wedding invitation.  The groomsmen wore Tommy Bahama aqua linen shirts and tan linen pants .  The bridesmaids wore Turquoise flowy maxi dresses with a soft wave pattern.

I designed the cake after seeing invitation and hearing all about the details of the wedding.  Carla, my bride, wanted an “easy feel” for her wedding.  She used the words “casual beach themed” to describe her wedding and reception.  Once we designed the cake, we chose a Marmalade Shantung linen for the cake table.  The cake was a perfect fit for my lovely couple, Carla & Christopher.”

I just love the sense of movement captured by the coral detailing, perfectly reflecting the gentle motion of ocean waves.  Not to mention the oh-so-popular color combination and a refined sense of beach-inspired style.  It is just fabulous!

Thank you to Sherri Meyers and her team at The Pastry Studio for sharing this gorgeous Coral & Aqua Beach Wedding Cake with us today!
