Sometimes, the least expected detail turns out to be THE detail that transforms a beautiful cake into an extraordinary cake! And today’s feature is the perfect example of a little detail that speaks volumes.
This stunning cake trio comes to us from Erin Gardner, owner of Wild Orchid Baking Company in in New Hampshire. Three separate cakes, three separate designs. All perfectly tied together with their soft white fondant, flirty ruffles, and incredible sugar flowers. And a scattering of gold stars. Tiny gold stars, specifically requested by the bride, which turned this traditional ruffle cake into a personalized design full of charm. Now, don’t get me wrong. This cake trio would be gorgeous with or without the gold stars. But that extra little detail not only adds a pop of gold but a touch of character, creating a design that is as unique as it is delightful. Let’s take a look at this Rustic Hipster Cake Trio!

“Planner Kate Parker described the couple’s style as “rustic hipster”, which fit their vineyard setting to a tee. The bride loved the idea of using ruffles and fantasy-style sugar flowers, but also asked me to find a way to incorporate gold stars. I wouldn’t have thought to pair the ideas, but in the end the ruffles and stars combined made for a very funky but classic look. This bride was all about the details!”

this trio is gorgeous! love the combination of gold stars (which reminds me of “hipster” tattoos – perhaps that’s where the hipster reference comes from) and the beautiful sugar flowers and natural looking ruffles. beautiful job, erin! ^__^
