It’s a beautiful day! We’re starting off another fabulous week of cake inspiration with a dessert table that is filled to the brim with natural charm… and apples! Today’s feature comes to us from Emily Lael Aumiller of Lael Cakes in Brooklyn. We’re still swooning over Emily’s gorgeous Chanel Meets Brooklyn table from last week (catch it here), so we’re definitely excited to welcome this talented baker back to the blog again today. This time the look is rustic yet elegant in tones of soft pink with pops of red, fresh greens and gold. With a bushel full of apple inspired sweets and a stunning cake that takes center stage. Satiny smooth fondant gets a touch of glam with a dainty leaf pattern hand-painted in gold. Marzipan apples also step it up with hints of gold while lush peonies and roses are accented with clusters of bittersweet. It all comes together in a spectacular way… and it’s waiting for you now. Enjoy!
Emily of Lael Cakes gives us the scoop on this shoot:
“Lael Cakes collaborated with our dear friends Jen Huang and the ladies from Poppies & Posies to design this gorgeous apple inspired dessert table. The table is decked out in everything apple desserts! From apple slice cake with ginger apple butter, caramel-pistachio covered apples, wild flower pies, rosemary-pine nut tarts and a show stopping cake as a center piece. The cake is covered in delicate gold decals accented with marzipan apples, bittersweet, peonies and roses.”
Thanks to Emily Lael Aumiller of Lael Cakes for inspiring us today with her gorgeous cakes and impeccable style. We can’t wait to see more from you in 2014!

your cakes are very hard to see, the background is so light that the cakes fade into it. Is there anyway you can darken the background so as to better view you creations.?
Carrie Sellman says
Hi Donna,
We feature cakes from many different cake designers and many different photographers. If you’re having trouble seeing one post in particular, please try to adjust your monitor settings either up or down. Perhaps that will help!
