Today’s featured cake is as pink, gold and gorgeous as you can get! Created for a 30th birthday, but suitable for any glam event from Valentine’s Day to a bridal shower, we are loving everything about this design. It comes to us from Heidi Holmon, owner and head cake artist at De la Creme Creative Studio located in Saint Louis, MO.
This is Heidi’s first appearance here on The Cake Blog and I’m pretty certain that today’s cake will leave you longing to see more! Ultra-tailored black and white stripes wrap around the dramatically tall bottom tier, setting the stage for a single gold band to shine. A blush pink top tier is adorned with a glittering gold heart and a monogram-styled 30. As if that weren’t enough to get your heart racing, just wait until you see the the other side! A cascade of gold hearts, thirty glittering hearts to be exact, makes the back of this design just as delightful as the front. Add in a stunning gold cake stand, lush flowers, shimmering details and you have today’s swoon-worthy display. Let’s take a look at this “Sparkle My Heart” cake table!
Heidi Holmon of De la Creme Creative Studio shares the inspiration for her design:
“This clean, modern cake design was created to be as fabulous as the birthday girl herself (who, by the way, made turning 30 look good). Black and white. Blushing pink. Glittery gold. No other frills were needed when we took a chocolate and french vanilla marble cake, and dressed it up in a Chanel-inspired outfit of fondant.
It’s so very girly yet I wanted to reflect the edge that the birthday girl had, so this cake was all about being sweet and feminine but with a rock-glam edge. It was designed to be displayed in the middle of the table, so it was simple and chic on the front, with a cascading party of 30 glittery hearts happening in the back.”
Heidi Holmon of De la Creme Creative Studio tells us more:
“For the styled shoot we paired it with strawberry milkshakes served in white chocolate rimmed milk jars with vintage paper straws. Also shown is the matching logo that we created especially for the event along with a prep photo of the heart being glitterized.”

It rather said that this blogger has not cared enough to answer the questions readers have asked. Maybe she doesn’t know though it would have been nice of her to say so.
That said I think I can answer two questions here from observation. Please take a look at pictures 3 and 5 you will see an overlap of black fondant around the cake. This makes me believe that fondant strips were added rather than royal icing stenciled on it.
Also the cake stand can be bought on Amazon, amalfi too. I hope this helps
