Real Party: Polar Express Birthday

December 10, 2010 by Carrie Sellman

It’s Friday!  So let’s indulge in a party that is full of sweet treats and just perfect for the holidays.  Today’s real party is the creation of the talented Houston area photographer and mother of two, Shalonda of Chubby Cheek Photography.  We first introduced you to Shalonda when we featured her daughter’s Pretty in Pink first birthday party.  Today we’re excited to share this Polar Express Birthday Party that Shalonda put together for her older daughter’s fourth birthday.  Even though the weather was hot outside, this party was truly a winter wonderland!

Polar Express Birthday Party

I just love all of the wintry goodness this party has to offer.  The grey and white color scheme makes this Polar Express party elegant and modern while still being appropriate for a child.  From the snowflake accents to the decorated train cookies and delicious looking cupcakes, this party has such charming little details.

A very special thank you to Shalonda of Chubby Cheek Photography for the gorgeous party inspiration and stunning photography.  Be sure to check out more of her work on the Chubby Cheek Photography website.  Read more about this party, including a full list of party vendors, on her blog.

Happy Friday!

Courtney – this party was hosted by Shalonda of Chubby Cheek Photography. I’m not sure where she purchased her cups, but you can find something similar here…

What a stunning presentation when it’s all set up! What are the silver balls on top of the cupcakes?

Carissa – I’m not certain but the silver balls on the cupcakes look like they might be candles. Wicks pushed down. You could also use large gum balls or balls of fondant painted with silver luster dust.

Love the contrast of a whimsical party with a sophisticated color palette. Nice work!
