Fabulous Cake Friday: His, Hers & Theirs

June 4, 2010 by Carrie Sellman

I realize no one needs a new reason to love Fridays, because really, what’s not to love about a Friday?  But personally, I think Fridays have gotten just a little bit sweeter since we started our ‘Fabulous Cake Friday’ segment.  And today I have another fabulous cake for you.  Even better, it’s not just one cake but three cakes!

Today’s cake design was created by Erica O’Brien and could not be more charming.  In shades of grey and pink, this design is simple and chic.  Not to mention that it embraces a hot new cake trend.  His, Hers and Theirs cakes.  Yes, that is right.  A small cake that is his, a small cake that is hers and a larger cake that is theirs.  Take a look…His, Hers and Theirs Cakes

I just love everything about this!  The groom’s cake was inspired by his grey pinstriped suit.  The bride’s cake was inspired by the detailing on her wedding gown.  The joint cake represented the couple’s relationship and marriage including platinum wedding ‘bands’ around the base of each tier, roses to symbolize love, and edible pearls to represent her diamond and pearl engagement ring.  Erica certainly did a phenomenal job designing these three cakes and creating a meaningful yet chic display.

A very special thank you to Henry Chen Photography for the gorgeous images and to Erica O’Brien for sharing her charming cake design with us.  Be sure to check out more of Erica’s amazing cakes on her website and blog.

Happy Friday everyone!
