Coco Chanel Pearl Cakes

May 27, 2011 by Carrie Sellman

Prepare to swoon.  Today’s cakes are so charming that I’m almost at a loss for words.  Almost.  Created by Lisa Rochelle of Sweet Grace Cake Design, these cakes are both elegant and feminine.  They’re simple yet sophisticated.  Channeling the style icon known for her little black dress and strand of pearls, you will adore these Coco Chanel inspired Pearl Cakes.

A few thoughts from Lisa about her inspiration for this design:

“The inspiration for the cake was the fashion icon Coco Chanel and her classic string of pearls which she layered with various lengths for a chic accompaniment to her little black dress. The top tier of pearls gives the look of a pearl choker.”

More from Lisa:

“I was inspired by the look of these pearls to design two other cakes with pearls as the central design element.”

Aren’t they just lovely?  Who knew sugar pearls could be so modern and sophisticated?  This design would be perfect for so many different occasions.  It would make a bold statement at a wedding or bridal shower or a charming centerpiece at a fashion swap party or girls night.  Change the color scheme and you’ve got a trendy cake for a Paris-themed birthday.  So many ways to feature this unique pearl necklace concept!

A special thanks to Lisa at Sweet Grace Cake Designs for sharing her Coco Chanel inspired Pearl Cakes with us. Be sure to check out more of Lisa’s lovely work on the Sweet Grace website and blog.

Wishing everyone a safe and fun-filled holiday weekend!  And don’t forget to enter our current giveaway, if you haven’t already.  Monday is the last day to enter!
