Heart Shaped S’more Cookies – a super easy, 3 ingredient Valentines treat that takes less than 10 minutes!
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! If you’re still looking for a special dessert for your family, a classroom treat for school, or a small gift for your gal pals — THIS is the recipe for you. I use the word recipe here lightly because really this is more like a super easy, last minute idea that you can pull together in no time flat. Stop at the store tonight and pick up three ingredients. Graham crackers ✓ Chocolate Bars ✓ Heart Marshmallows ✓ In less than 10 minutes, you’ll have a delicious heart-shaped s’more that doubles as a cookie and looks ridiculously cute.
I’ve made these too many years to count now, because they’re just too easy. One year I topped them with heart sprinkles, which was a nice twist to make it more playful for kids. I added a photo (albeit NOT the best quality photo) at the end of this post, to give you a peek at that one!

Heart Shaped S’more Cookies – a super easy, 3 ingredient Valentines treat that takes less than 10 minutes!
- Category: ✽ ✽
Instructions
- Preheat broiler to 500F. Line a baking tray with tin foil.
- Break graham cracker sheets into squares and place onto baking tray, spaced one inch apart.
- Break chocolate bar into squares and place on top of graham cracker squares. Top each square with a heart marshmallow.
- Place tray in oven under broiler for roughly 60 to 90 seconds. Watch the whole time so that the marshmallows do not burn. Just lightly toast!
- Remove from oven and add sprinkles before chocolate sets, if using. Let cool. Use a spatula to move s’mores to a serving plate.
Notes
- I used classic Hershey chocolate bars.
- If you want to eat these right away, I recommend topping with another graham cracker (after you show them off!) to help contain the ooey, gooey, goodness! Or you can prepare these 30 minutes to several hours in advance. This allows the chocolate to firm up so you can enjoy them open faced, heart exposed!
- To make a day in advance, allow cookies to completely cool so that the chocolate is firm. Store in an air tight container until ready to use.
- Once set, these store nicely in individual clear bags tied with ribbon.
I also wanted to share this pink version that I made in 2014 and topped with heart sprinkles. While this photo isn’t the best, I think you get the idea. Just add the sprinkles while the chocolate is still melted and wet. Once the chocolate sets up, the sprinkles will stay put! I bagged these in individual cellophane bags, tied each with a ribbon and my daughter passed them out to her preschool classmates. That particular year I could only find the Kraft marshmallow hearts, which are slightly taller than the Campfire marshmallows I originally used for this post. Overall I liked the presentation of the shorter Campfire marshmallows better, but both were delicious and worked just fine.

I just finished making these! They turned out wonderful. I used the peep heart, which are slightly bigger, but it all worked out. I’m sending these to my sister in college. She’ll love them! Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the feedback Erin – a peep heart sounds delicious! What a nice sister you are! 😉
Melanie says
Hi! I love the glossy look of the chocolate and the way the chocolate extends to the edge. Was there a certain kind of chocolate you used so I could loo for it at the store? Thanks!
Carrie Sellman says
Thanks Melanie! It’s just a classic Hershey chocolate bar. One half of the chocolate bar fits perfectly on half of the graham cracker sheet. The chocolate drape over the sides just sort of happens. And the nice shine is from them still being a little wet when photographed.
Hope you enjoy!

Do you think these could be made a day ahead of time and stored in an airtight container?
Carrie Sellman says
Yes, they will keep for a day or so. Just store in airtight container and you’ll be fine. I’ve also wrapped them individually (once they set up) in cellophane bags and tied with a ribbon – makes for a cute individual gift. 🙂

where can I find heart shaped marshmallows?
Carrie Sellman says
Grocery stores and Target generally carry them around Valentine’s Day. You can also purchase them online using the link above in the ingredient list.
