Today’s feature is a picturesque scene set upon calm lake waters and inspired by the beauty of watercolor. Shades of pink and purple flow from the sky into every last detail of this dreamy wedding shoot. We have been loving the watercolor trend for over a year now, oohing and ahhing over everything from watercolor cakes to watercolor stationery. So an entire event that captures the essence of soft swirls and mixed colors is definitely something to celebrate. Not to mention the two lovely watercolor cakes, perfectly adorned with delicate wafer paper flowers. Yes, another detail to love! It comes to us from Anna Craig of Sweet On You who paired up with Nicole Sihlis of Created Lovely Events and a team of talented Canadian vendors. Let’s sit back and enjoy the view, shall we?
Anna Craig of Sweet On You gives us the scoop on this bridal shoot:
“Nicole’s vision for this styled shoot was beautifully thought out and well executed. The natural surroundings of Okanagan Lake only helped to enhance the water colors featured in the vintage decor, cakes, florals and stationary. I wanted to create two different watercolor looks for these cake designs. The two tier cake was hand painted with shades of pinks and purples and “accessorized” with a large wafer paper flower.”
Anna Craig of Sweet On You tells us about the second cake:
“The three tier cake was also hand painted but I used a technique of dry brushing with petal dust to create a completely different look. The pink flowers here are also made with wafer paper that was colored with pink petal dust.”
