Lindsay Conchar : Contributor

Lindsay Conchar | Contributing Writer for TheCakeBlog.com

Lindsay is the recipe developer and photographer behind her blog, Life, Love and Sugar. She shares all kinds of desserts, from over-the-top cakes to brownies and cookies. Lindsay loves not only creating a beautiful looking and great tasting dessert, but making them accessible for everyone to make themselves. Her favorite things to make are cakes, but she really doesn’t discriminate against any sweet treat. She has an addiction to cake stands and pretty photo props, which have started to take over her house and pantry.

Lindsay’s path to baking began with a massive sweet tooth as a kid and a love for design. Although Lindsay grew up primarily cooking with her mom and baking from a box, she decided to take some cake decorating classes in 2011. Afterwards, Lindsay spent day and night learning all she could about cake decorating and baking and began making cakes for friends’ weddings and events. She eventually decided to start a blog to share her love of cakes, baking and beautiful desserts.

Lindsay’s first cookbook was released in October 2016. It is, of course, all about cakes.

Lindsay’s work has been published in Woman’s World Magazine and featured online at People.com, The Huffington Post, Better Homes and Garden, Country Living, Woman’s Day, BuzzFeed, Cosmopolitan, TheNest.com and more.

With lime juice and zest, topped with a tangy sweet lime frosting and graham cracker crumbs. A new cupcake recipe by our contributor, Lindsay Conchar. These cupcakes are summer in a cupcake! The cupcake itself is flavored with key lime juice and beautiful like flecks of finely grated key lime zest. Key lime can sometimes be hard to find, so feel free to use regular limes for the zest. For the juice, there’s fortunately bottled key lime juice that works quite well and is always available. It lends a nice, light key lime flavor to the cupcake.

These Chocolate Covered Pretzel Cupcakes are a delicious combination of chocolate and pretzels that are perfect for all lovers of sweet and salty! Plus, the festive holiday pretzels make them perfect for this time of year! I have so many memories as a kid of shopping for Christmas presents with my mom. At my youngest, my brother and I were probably a massive pain. We usually played hide and seek amongst all the clothing racks. The round ones were the best because you could literally hide right in the center between all the clothes. As I got older, it changed and I actually liked shopping.

Butterfinger CupcakesButterfinger Cupcakes - the ultimate Butterfinger cupcake recipe! Peanut butter cupcakes, chocolate ganache and peanut butter frosting with crushed Butterfingers. I don’t know about you, but for me Halloween has always been all about the candy. The costume was simply necessary in order to get said candy. I’m pretty sure I was a witch for many years simply so that I’d have a costume and could go trick-or-treating. And when it came to candy - the more, the better. We’d go door to door for hours. Then when my brother and I were done trick-or-treating, we’d pour all our candy out onto the floor, sort it and then trade the candy we didn’t like for other candy. Of course Butterfingers have always been a big hit. Who can resist the crunch and the peanut butter?!

Chocolate Turtle CupcakesOur contributor, Lindsay Conchar, is sharing a chocolate turtle cupcakes recipe. Rich chocolate cupcakes topped with caramel pecan frosting, caramel drizzle and chopped pecans.... One thing you will regularly find flying around my kitchen is caramel. It’s just heavenly. I have loved it since I was a kid and will never stop. You know how boxes of chocolates usually have at least one that’s filled with caramel? That’s the one with my name on it. My grandmother was known for her love of chocolates so it was sort of a tradition to get her favorite box for just about any occasion. I always lobbied to get the big box so that there were two levels of chocolates, meaning at least two caramel-filled ones. The caramel love runs deep and I’m dedicated to it.
